ISRO Brings back Satellite from Space

ISRO(Indian Space Research Organization) have successfully recovered a space capsule on January 22, 2007.

In a pathbreaking event heralding its arrival as a space power with capability to recover an orbiting satellite, India today successfully brought back a spacecraft to earth, giving a new impetus to the proposed manned mission to space in the next decade.

The Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE) is an experimental spacecraft which was launched on January 10, 2007 from Sriharikota by the Indian Space Research Organization. The launch was conducted using the PSLV C7 rocket, along with three other satellites. It remained in orbit for 12 days before re-entering atmosphere and splashing down into the Bay of Bengal at January 22.
